Scion iA Collects a Consumer Guide Auotmotive Best Buy Award

2016 may be the first year for the Scion iA, but that isn't stopping it from being broadly acclaimed.

“The Scion iA is loaded with premium amenities and safety features, including a low-speed pre-collision system, which really helps it stand out,” said Scion Vice President Andrew Gilleland. “The iA is a $17,000 car and was developed to be the best buy in its class, so this award from Consumer Guide Automotive validates those efforts.”

Car and Driver gushes over the list of standard amenities, many of which are costly options on competitors cars:  "high points include cruise control, air conditioning, push-button ignition, a rear camera, 16-inch alloys, two years of free maintenance, and even a low-speed collision-mitigation system."

The iA actually makes use of a Mazda 4-cylinder engine with SkyActiv technology, making the most of a 106 hp 1.5L power plant.  The iA completely outperforms what you would expect from such a smallish engine, and is widely considered a thoroughly enjoyable car to drive.

Scion Will Debut New C-HR Next Month

Scion C-HR Concept

Scion is expected to debut a production-form version of their C-HR compact crossover next month at the Detroit Auto Show.  Scion is the latest manufacturer to add a compact crossover to their line of vehicles.

The C-HR first showed up in 2014 at the Paris show, then as a 4-door at the Frankfurt show, and most recently in Los Angeles.  The C-HR is expected to come with a choice of a traditional gasoline engine or a hybrid, and will likely be offered in two-wheel or all-wheel drive versions.  Check back at www.smartscionqc.com for more information on availability or to see our current inventory of Scion models.
